This durable, ergonomically designed tool uses an infrared (IR) sensor to accurately detect halogenated refrigerant gases. It features adjustable sensitivity to suit various environments and works by slowly scanning the area—sounding an alarm when a leak is found. The IR sensor resets (zeros out) when held over a leak, ensuring consistent performance across all refrigerants, unlike some technologies that vary in effectiveness. The kit includes the 55600-A detector, a charging cable, replacement filters, and comes in a convenient zippered carry case.
